For Our Past, Our Present, Our Future…

Welcome to Black Life Institute. This is a Safe Space for Descendants of Enslaved Africans from the American Soil (DEAFAS) to Gather, Relax, and Talk Amongst Ourselves About Our Past Story, Our Present Situation, and Our Plans for Our Future Without Intervention from Members of Any Other Group.
Welcome. It is nice to have you here at the Black Life Institute. We are a purpose-built website where Descendants of Enslaved Africans from the American Soil (DEAFAS) People can gather, commune, and seek answers and insights to commonly held knowledge, beliefs, and ideas.
Unfortunately, on much of the web today, trolls and others not of our DEAFAS lineage attempt to make it hard, if not downright impossible – in some regards – for us to have our own safe space. This is the answer to that. This is a safe space for us…and only US.
This exclusivity is purposeful, but not mean-spirited. If we, as a People, wish to “undo” what has been done to us over the centuries, we must, at some point, exercise what the Master Teacher, Dr. John Henrik Clarke, called “Essential Selfishness.” It would appear, at quick glance, that it has been inculcated into us that we should always place the benefit of others (…and other groups) over our own interests.
At some point, we, as a People, must learn to say we’ve had enough of placing ourselves last in our own priorities. We, for once, must make a conscious decision to be “essentially selfish” for our future and, most importantly, that of our progeny. This site is part and parcel of that process.
Likewise, we are not here to “save the whales,” “rescue puppies,” or “save the environment.” While those and so many more movement are good and cogent in their own rites, they have not place here.
We are unapologetically, 100% about Black Empowerment; nothing more, nothing less.
If you are not DEAFAS, here to discuss, learn, and genuinely participate in moving our people forward, then, please go skip rocks!
